Class 2

6000kg to 18000 kg Rigid Truck

The Class 2 licence course covers a Heavy Rigid Vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of between 6,000kg to 18,000 kg or combination vehicle Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of between 6,000 kg to 12,000 kg.

1.    Candidate must hold a current New Zealand Class 2 Learner Licence prior to booking into this course

Theory Course 

Day 1 (In-classroom Theory)

• Unit Standard 24089 – Demonstrate knowledge of fatigue management, work time, and driver logbook requirements

Day 2 (In-classroom Theory)

• Unit standard 17574 – Operate a rigid vehicle to meet the requirements for a full class 2 driver licence

Practical Course 

Class 2 Practical Training Session 1

• 1.5hour practical training session in PassRite class 2 manual truck

Class 2 Practical Training Session 2

• 1.5hour practical training session in PassRite class 2 manual truck

Class 2 Practical Assessment

• 1.5hour practical assessment in PassRite class 2 manual truck

Practical drives are conducted over 3 additional separate days and are NOT pre-booked you will need to contact our office 09 636-0111 to book these in and are subject to trainer and vehicle availability.

Upon successful competion of your training programme, you will be issued with a NZ Transport Agency certificate, which you will need to take to any NZTA approved Driver Licencing Agency (AA or VTNZ) to have your licence upgrated to a Full Class 2 Licence with no further tests required. Both unit standards (US 24089 & US 17574) will be credited to your NZQA Records of Learning. 

You are NOT licenced to drive on the road until you have uploaded your Full Class 2 onto your Driver Licence.

3-6 WORKING DAYS prior to course start date:  50% Cancellation Fee / REFUND if pre-paid

2 WORKING DAYS prior to course start date: 100% Cancellation Fee / NO REFUND if pre-paid

PRACTICAL TRAINING CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY: 

Less than 24 hour notice results in a fee of $195.00 plus GST per cancelled/rescheduled drive.
